The Department of English, Avadh Girls’ Degree College offers the Master’s program in English. The MA program follows the curriculum and the academic calendar of the University of Lucknow. The course is divided into four semesters and is based on the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) as per the latest guidelines of the National Education Policy 2020.
The pedagogical tools employed in the class are in sync with the vision as laid out by NEP 2020. The focus is to make the classroom interactive and learner based. A lot of emphasis is laid on the development of critical and research faculties and the students are encouraged and guided to engage in creative writing and publish research papers. The students coming from “muffassil” towns and those having less than satisfactory communication skills are motivated and directed to work on their Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills in the Personality Development Classes. “
