Economics has the capacity to offer us deep insights into some of the most formidable problems of life, and offer solutions to them too, combining a global approach with examples from daily life. To meet this need, The Department of Economics has designed a multidisciplinary curriculum that prepares students to maneuver seamlessly from dedicated creating and maintaining a positive, interactive and personal educational experience geared towards student’s success. The Department of Economics was established in 1958 under the headship of Dr.Beena Bhatnagar. After that it was headed by Ms. Ratna Watal. Then it was effectively run by Dr. Rai who joined the institution as lecturer after her Retirement presently, department is efficiently run by Dr. Shanti Rai Head of the department and Dr. P. Boudh as an Assistant Professor of the Economics department.
